Four generations, one house

A century of patience, composed slowly.

The line begins in a Punjab village in 1942 and runs — through partition, Crawford Market, a single wooden workbench — to the bottle in your hand today. These are the moments that made the house.

A village in Punjab

The first compositions, by lamplight.

Before Bombay, before a shopfront, a young Joginder Singh Gandhi mixes his first attars in a Punjab village — copying recipes from an uncle who traded with Kashmir. It is, in his own hand in the family ledger, "a beginning."

A room off the market.

Joginder opens the first Gandhi atelier in South Bombay — a single wooden bench, two glass flasks, and a ledger that still survives in the family archive. The floor smells faintly of sandalwood. It always will.

National, then export

The second generation scales the bench.

Ajit Singh Gandhi expands the house nationally, then into the Gulf and Southeast Asia. The bench stays the same. The reach grows. A discipline becomes a trade.

The fourth generation

A house, restaged.

Puneet and Sohail bring the archive into a modern D2C studio — three signature compositions, the same slow discipline, a new audience. Composed in Bombay, worn by the world.

A fragrance is a photograph of a moment, developed in oil.

Every composition is drafted, rested, revised — often for years — until the accord earns its place in the archive. We don't launch what isn't ready. We don't rush the dry-down.

That is the bench. That is the house. That is, at its core, the only thing we have to offer.
